A native of Toronto, Dr. Nobrega-Porter’s passion for Naturopathic Medicine was first cultivated by family influences. Spending summers in the landscape of Muskoka (North of Toronto) helped instill an appreciation for balance and the healing power of nature. Eating well and staying physically and emotionally fit are values that have defined her lifestyle and which now provide the foundation of her Naturopathic practice.
Dr. Nobrega-Porter completed her four year undergraduate degree at Queen’s University in Kingston. She then went on to complete her medical studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. It was the unique orientation of her studies on “whole patient wellness” and disease prevention that ultimately inspired
her to create and open the Wellpath Clinic. Dr. Nobrega-Porter was licensed to practice as a Naturopathic Doctor
in September of 2008.
Wellpath Clinic embodies the core values that have become Dr. Nobrega-Porter’s way of life. Excellence in service and passion for helping patients achieve sustainable overall wellness are the founding values of Wellpath Clinic. “In an increasingly busy world”, according to Dr. Nobrega-Porter, “time has become a valued commodity. As a result, many people abandon the basic practices they need to stay healthy. In many cases, this is the underlying cause of a patient’s illness or disease. Unless a medical professional takes the time to listen to their patient and understand how their lifestyle is contributing to their current condition, there is no opportunity to move beyond a quick fix to a long-term sustainable solution. At Wellpath, our approach is to listen to our patient’s, understand their personal challenges, and offer science-based natural solutions. We are in the business of helping our patients to achieve their healthiest self and all the good rewards that come with it. It is our passion.”
In addition to her practice, Dr. Nobrega-Porter is an avid runner, swimmer and tennis player and has a love of music and learning. A conservationist, she helps support the preservation of the environment and endangered species of animals through the global not-for-profit WildAid. She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Medicine, The Institute for Functional Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Nobrega-Porter lives in Toronto with her husband, Richard.
